5. Mission of Burma broke up in 1983 because Roger blasted himself in the ears with a shotgun
.
False, but there was a rumour (heard in Connecticut, '86)
which stemmed from the "shotgun ear protectors"
he wore towards the end of the band.
6. The two guitar effects used by Roger in Burma
were the "Vacu-Fuzz" (a hyperactive Big Muff) and the
"Vacu-Trem" (a steroidal tremelo), both designed and executed by Lou
Giordano.
True. Lou is an engineer/producer who has since worked with
the likes of Volcano Suns, Christmas, Bob Mould and
Live. Later modifications to the "Vacu-Trem" were made by Bob Weston.
7. Rykodisc has released the entire
Ace of Hearts, Burma
catalogue, complete with original artwork, which recieved rave reviews from Billboard,
Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone.
True, but the mainstream press raves were certainly not
expected.
8. Roger once saw a band from Detroit, later to become
a famous band, who in 1966 covered almost
the entire first Hendrix album.
True, and that band was the MC-5.
