Lyrics to "We Grind Open (in)" from the Signals Calls and Marches (mission of burma) lyric sheet, using John Cage's aleatoric "I Ching" derivation technique.
The Cosmic Battle was written in 1970. Son of a Bitch was redone on the No Man: Whamon Express album. War Bolts was written in 1974.
Space is the Place is by Sun Ra.

This disc was recorded on a 4-track cassette deck in his basement in the summer of 1988, at the request of Forced Exposure Records. Alternately percieved as completely off-the-wall or one of his purest records, it remains one of his favorites. Guitars galore, with some other sound sources. Despite the fact that at least 4 songs have vocals, only 2 are in a language recognizable by scholars, and even then the diction is "undecipherable".

Cover lettering by the artist. Careful attention to detail allowed him to cause the printing "made in Canada" appear upside down. Each back cover was hand-done in his driveway (2,000 of these things) in the following manner: The black blank back covers were laid out 40 at a time. Small pebbles (from the driveway) were scattered on these. Spray paint (various colors) was then applied. With black spray paint, the image steered close to the second Velvet's album cover (which was almost invisible). With white spray paint, nearly galactic imagery resulted. One of these white covers was used for the (lamentably only) cover on the New Alliance CD reissue.

The insert includes a short comic strip by the artist.

"Avant-garde Record of the Week: For all their groaning and moaning, the tunes have a comfortable, accessible feel that belies their experimental nature."
